Hello there!
How are you? I hope this email finds you well and you are having a great week. School is back in session and while I do not wish to be back in school I do miss being a kid some days!
In Jamaica, there are three main sports- track and field, cricket and soccer. I learned from a young age I was not very fast, possibly being the slowest Jamaican around (which means, I am still quick just not go for the gold quick). I also learned I was not fond of cricket. So I kicked a soccer ball and pretty much haven’t stopped since.
Although I never dreamed of being a professional soccer player, I did get to be up close to the action once upon a time. I was a professional referee for the minor leagues and did that for about 20 years as a second job before coming into Real Estate. We found out we were having our son and I knew I needed to change some things up. Luckily, I did get to work at a few major league games before closing that chapter!
When I was growing up, the captain of the Liverpool team was a Jamaican which was so cool to me. I was so encouraged by that, I became a massive Liverpool fan. Now, I try to get my kids into it, so my son will watch for a few minutes (as much as a 6 year old can) and then come back when he hears me excited about someone scoring a goal.
Now, I would love to know- what passion or interest did you have as a kid that still lingers with you today?
